Horowitz Book

Nor did he usually indulge in serious musical talk. But at his last photo session with Steiner, not long before he died, Horowitz started talking with him about the German conductor Carlos Kleiber. While fooling around with his television set, Horowitz had come across a Kleiber broadcast from Vienna and been terribly impressed. Steiner, who was well acquainted with Carlos Kleiber's work, was amazed by Horowitz's perspective, sensitive analysis of the conductor's technique and approach to music.
